Miniature landscape, 5x3cm, Material print, 2024

The series consists of 5×3 cm material prints on paper, created in 2024. The idea behind this work is to invite viewers to engage more closely with the images, training their eyes to see greater detail. The small scale mirrors the actual scale of environment in which many tiny creatures live and where the observations for this project took place. I also aimed to find compositions that introduce a level of ambiguity through textures and shapes that do not immediately reveal their botanical origins. Instead, they invite viewers to pause, question, and interpret.

The creative process began by collecting natural materials, mostly dead plants, from the firebugs‘ habitat. Back in the studio, I used these materials to create black-and-white prints on paper. Once the prints were made, I carefully cut out frames.
